ENGINE DEMONSTRATIONS AND STATION TOURS

An Engine/Station demonstration or tour is when a fire apparatus comes to a specified location to provide an educational experience about the apparatus and its equipment. Station Tours are group tours of the fire station also providing an educational experience about the operations and equipment of the fire station. Both of these events are generally 30 minutes long. During the events, personnel stay in-service and with their apparatus to respond to calls for service.

Requests for Engine Demonstrations must meet the following requirements:

Request form must be filled out
Must receive no less than three weeks prior to requested date
Groups must be citizens of Harrison Township
Group/Class is allowed one demo/tour per school year
Group/Class target audience is over the age of 4
Group/Class must be one of the following:
Religious/Spiritual
Educational
Non-Profit

We will NOT:

Provide Engine Demos./Tours for a for-profit business
Provide Engine Demos./Tours at a place of residence
Allow Engine Demos./Tours before 9:00AM or after 7:00PM

Special Events and Special Events Permits

Harrison Hills Fire Company work with various event planners and community members throughout the year to help ensure that events within Harrison Township are safe for all attendees. There are many variations of special events, and your event may require special permitting or inspection prior to hosting. In order for us to best serve the needs of the community, please fill out the form below to notify us of your event. We will review your information and get back to you to let you know the next steps.

FOOD TRUCK PERMITS:

Food Truck permitting is handled by the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) and is required of all food trucks operating within Allegheny County, including the Township of Harrison.

Engine Tour

An Engine or Fire-Rescue Apparatus demonstration is when a fire apparatus comes to a specified location to provide an educational experience about the apparatus and its equipment. Demos are usually 30 minutes long. During the demonstration, apparatus and personnel remain with the apparatus and are prepared to respond to calls for service. This event is targeted for groups/classes over the age of 4 years old.

Station Tours

The station tour allows groups/classes to visit the fire station and experience in an educational way, the day to day operations. During the tour, apparatus and personnel remain in the station and are prepared to respond to calls for service. This event is targeted for groups/classes over the age of 10 years of age.

Parade/ National Night Out

Harrison Hills Fire Company will make every attempt to attend your event, however, we do receive multiple requests to attend parades and events and are not always available during your requested time. During parades or events, apparatus and personnel remain with the apparatus and are prepared to respond to calls for service.

Motorcycle Rides

Large motorcycle ride events that require traffic control take an extensive amount of planning. We ask that you submit a request form no later than 4 weeks from the day of the event. During events, apparatus and personnel remain with the apparatus and are prepared to respond to calls for service.
